About Hiroaki Misawa

Hiroaki Misawa is a Professor Emeritus at Hokkaido University, Japan and a life-time professor at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, Taiwan. He received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Tsukuba in 1984. After an assistant professorship at the University of Tsukuba, he joined the Microphotoconversion project (ERATO) of JST.

 

He became an associate professor at the University of Tokushima in 1993 and was promoted to full professor in 1995. He moved to Hokkaido University as full Professor in 2003. He was entitled Professor Emeritus in 2021. Since 2015, he has held an additional post at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, Taiwan. His research interest is plasmonic chemistry. 

 

He obtained the Commendation for Science and Technology by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Prizes for Science and Technology, Research Category in 2015 and CSJ Award by the Chemical Society of Japan in 2016.
